* Airplane – New York can be accessed through three major airports in the city. These include La guardia, JFK and Newark.

* Subways – This is an essential form of transport for many New Yorkers. The subway system operates 24/7. It connects Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. If you want to avoid the traffic, then riding the subway is the best resort. It is advisable to plan your route ahead to avoid missing a stop. There are subway maps before entering any platform. Check if you are in the correct side of the railway. Always remember to stay away from the edge of the platform.

* Car Rentals – There are different car rental companies that you could hire. This is a great option if you have a well planned itinerary. Hiring a car is very convenient if you are planning to go and visit different places.

 

* Foot - Don’t forget that New York is a walking city. New Yorkers normally walk to work and run errands on foot. Traffic congestion is actually one reason why locals prefer to walk rather than drive. It is a good idea to pack good walking shoes.
